FOLLOWING HIS SIDE’S loss to Kilkenny yesterday, Waterford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald was in reflective mood.
After he saw his side lose 2-19 to 1-16 against Waterford, Fitzgerald told reporters: “I hope it won’t be the end of me. I’d like to think not. Some of ye might be delighted to get rid of me, but I am hoping I’ll be back.”
Despite their loss, Fitzgerald’s side put in a respectable performance against the Leinster champions, continually fighting back when a rout appeared to be on the cards.
The manager consequently praised his team’s attitude during the game, before adding, in relation to his future:
“Whether I am there next year or not, I don’t know. I couldn’t say more than enough about them giving me everything.”
So what do you think? Should Davy Fitz take an extended break from management, or should the ex-Clare player be given more time at Waterford?
