The Corkman ignited a war of words with his former club manager Alex Ferguson when he said Manchester United “got what they deserved” when they were knocked out of the Champions League.
The Scot hit back immediately, questioning Keane’s record as a manager but his ex-captain has now retorted in fine style by suggesting that much of Fergie’s success has to be put down – in some way – to the players he had around him.
So, does he have a point?

its difficult to continue to have respect for Roy Keane when he continues to to be self indulgent and throwing his Roys toys out of his pram. Of course Fergie is a tyrant and only concerned with himself. otherwise Man Utd would still be languishing in mid table with mediocre success like many other good clubs. but no, he is obsessed with success and driven to achieve. he knows when to dispense with those who are an impediment to his goals. @Jim, i think you misunderstand what the poppy represents much like a lot of other people…… it is in rememberance of those who gave there lifes in WW1 and WW2….. some of which were Irish who fought in the british, austrailian, new zealand and american armies. If he was wearing a rose it would be different but the poppy is symbol gives thanks to those who gave there lifes for something greater than themselves……. so let him were it down Pana if he wants :)

Roy is dead right …. Sir Alex’s success is due to players that he has around him.
So well done Alex on being a good enough manager to bring the right people and players into your club around so that you can win titles.
