POLL: How will Ireland fare against Austria?

Giovanni Trapattoni’s side go into the match without record goalscorer Robbie Keane, while Wes Hoolahan has been left on the bench.

CONOR SAMMON HAS been chosen ahead of Wes Hoolahan to partner Shane Long in Tuesday’s evening’s World Cup qualifier against Austria at the Aviva Stadium.

The Derby County striker will make just his third appearance in the green jersey, with captain Robbie Keane ruled out with a calf injury.

The selection of Sammon ahead of the mercurial Hoolahan comes as no surprise to those who are used to Trapattoni’s conservative nature.

What do you think it will all mean on Tuesday night?
