Poll: are you going to stay up all night or go to bed early?

Apart from that whole out-half argument, it’s the biggest question of the week ahead of tomorrow’s big game in New Zealand.

IRELAND PLAY WALES tomorrow in a much-anticipated Rugby World Cup quarter-final.

You can start your day to George Hook’s face as RTÉ’s coverage begins at 5.30am ahead of a 6am kick-off in Wellington.

Besides the perennial Sexton-or-O’Gara conundrum, the big question of the week is this: are you going to extend your Friday night from Ireland’s soccer game all the way into the big rugby game?

Or, more sensibly perhaps, head to bed early and get up fresh for the big day?

Poll Results:

I'm going to be early, Tom (1195)
Out all night for me (291)
Sky Plus the game and get up a little bit later (192)
What game? (166)

    Or just wake early?
Surely a few hours earlier we’ll do nobody any harm for 1 day, considering what those men are putting themselves through on the pitch.

deffo getting up and watching the game, but will be torn as to who i want to win, although i have lived inireland for many years and love it here ,i was brought up watching the great welsh sides of the 70′s and early 80′s, names like barry john, mervin davies j.j.williams,j.p.r. williams and the legendery garath edwards were all heros to me, and in recent years i’ve been lucky to watch the great munster sides, as my ancestry is 1/2 welsh ,1/2 irish on both parents sides, in some ways i can’t lose one of my favourate teams is going through to the semi’s. think ireland may just edge it, i’ll go for a 3 point win.

Perhaps another option – the one I’m going for – is to Sky+ the game and get up at a more reasonable time maybe around 8.

I’ve tried the staying up only to nod off and I’ve tried the Sky+ during this World Cup but there’s no way I’m not watching what should be a historical occasion for Irish Rugby live!!

Also I think RTE start at 5.30am, unless there are 12 and half hours of build up.

I was in Liverpool on a stag weekend the Sunday that Ireland played Russia. I decided (seemed like a good idea at the time) to stay out and hit the night clubs (which stay open until 6am in Liverpool!!) stay there ’till 5.30am or so and head back to the hotel. Watch the game and get a few hours kip. I did exactly that. Two things happened: 1) I seen the whole game 2) I don’t remember a single second of it, due to copious amounts of alcohol in my system and serious sleep deprivation (the Saturday was the second night of the stag). For tomorrow, it’s into bed reasonably early and up in time for K.O. That way I can enjoy (and remember) every second of what is going to be a nerve wrecking game.

The Woolshed on Parnell Str are opening the doors at 05:30 for the game. I won’t be in Dublin unfortunately, but I have been there before for tri-nation games and the atmosphere has been electric.

‘Apart from that whole out half argument’. Adrian, was there any (sane) person arguing for Sexton to start tomorrow? I doubt it. Most ppl get up between 7 and 7.30 on weekdays – so getting up an hour earlier is no big deal.
