DAVY FITZGERALD’S HOPES of leading Clare to next season’s All-Ireland SHC title have been dealt a major blow.
The Irish Independent‘s Donnchadh Boyle reports that dual stars Podge and Sean Collins will not play for the county’s hurling side next year.
Instead the highly-rated Cratloe brothers will only line out for the Banner’s footballers, who are managed by their father Colm.
TheScore.ie understands it was not possible for the dual arrangement to work satisfactorily in 2015.
Podge Collins was a key member in the side that claimed an unlikely Liam MacCarthy victory last season, winning an Allstar for his efforts.
