PODGE COLLINS WILL make his starting league debut for the Clare senior footballers tomorrow afternoon against Leitrim.

Clare face the FBD League champions in a Division 4 clash at Miltown-Malbay with Collins named to start at centre-forward after coming on as a substitute in the second-half of last Sunday’s win over Waterford.

2013 hurling Allstar Collins played for the county’s footballers in the 2012 McGrath Cup while he also has football experience with the Banner at U21 and minor level.

The inclusion of the dual star is one of four changes made by manager Colm Collins to the Clare side. Gordon Kelly and Enda Coughlan come in to fill the positions in the defensive spine while Michael O’Shea is named in attack at corner-forward.

Injury rules out Kevin Hartnett and attacking lynchpin David Tubridy while Stephen Collins and Jamie Malone also make way.

CLARE: Pierce Deloughrey (Cratloe); Martin McMahon (Kilmurry-Ibrickane), Gordon Kelly (St Joseph’s Miltown-Malbay), Dean Ryan (Eire Og); Shane Hickey (Kilmurry-Ibrickane), Enda Coughlan (Kilmurry-Ibrickane), Martin Ogie Murphy (Cratloe); Gary Brennan (Clondegad), Cathal O’Connor (Coolmeen); Sean Collins (Cratloe), Podge Collins (Cratloe), Shane McGrath (Thomas Davis, Dublin); Michael O’Shea (St Senan’s Kilkee), Shane Brennan (Clondegad), Martin O’Leary (Kilmihil).
