WALLABIES SKIPPER DAVID Pocock has urged his side to unleash an attacking onslaught in Saturday’s third and final Test against Wales.
Mike Harris’ penalty goal from the sideline after the final siren sealed the series with a 25-23 victory in a gripping encounter in Melbourne last weekend.
While clearly delighted with the results in the opening two Tests, the Wallabies are well aware they could easily be staring at a 2-0 deficit after two close encounters against the Six Nations champions.
And Pocock, who is likely to captain the Wallabies for the rest of the year after regular skipper James Horwill had hamstring surgery on Monday, wants his side to put on a show at Allianz Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s great to have taken the series out now with the two wins but it’s a great opportunity to play some better rugby here in Sydney … we’ve really got to push on and show some more attacking rugby and actually use the ball a lot more,” Pocock said.

“We haven’t played the best in the last two games and we know that, so we were pretty lucky to come up with the win after coughing up so much ball and giving them that one pretty easy try.
The Wallabies will break camp on Sunday and return to their franchises for the final two rounds of the Super Rugby regular season.
Robbie Deans’ side will reassemble in early August ahead of their opening game of the Rugby Championship against the All Blacks in Sydney on August 18.
“It’s important for us to take that next step leading in to the Rugby Championship. This is our last week together as a group and then we break for a month or so and we see this as a crucial game in our development,” Pocock said.
“We’re delighted to win of course but we’re very aware that as a group we’ve got a lot more improvement in us and come the Rugby Championship it’s going to be a step up again.”
