VIDEO: Peter Sagan literally danced his way across the finish line at the Tour de France today

Slovakia’s young star might be a Tour newbie, but he’s certainly not acting like one.

SLOVAKIA’S RISING STAR Peter Sagan blew away a superstar field this afternoon to win his second stage at the Tour de France — just four days into his debut at cycling’s showpiece event.

And so the 22-year-old reacted the way most 22-year-olds would: by sitting up in the saddle and busting some funky moves as he crossed the finish line, leaving a glaring peloton in his wake.

Cocky? Yes. Annoying? Possibly. Justified? After a win like that, definitely.

Meanwhile no mention of any Irish competitors like Nicolas Roche who came in at 8th on t oday’s Stage and is now up to 20th on GC. Or Dan Martin’s unfortunate crash earlier in the stage. wouldn’t want to be relying on the getting the result off you, this report only showed up here roundabout 21:00. The race finished at 16:30. Shows the regard you hold the event in., despite the fact there is almost reasonable chance of an Irish stage win and success this year. Of course, a live blog of a Sweden-Ukraine match, you can manage that no bother.

      Hi Eamonom,

It seems you might have missed our stage three round-up which was posted here (http://jrnl.ie/508772) about an hour after racing finished yesterday. It covered Nicolas Roche’s 7th place finish (even better than 8th!), Dan Martin’s crash, Kanstantsin Sivtsov’s retirement, Jose Gutierrez’s failed attempt to lead a breakaway and most of the other important details from yesterday’s racing.

This short video post was never intended as a “report” on the stage but rather as a snippet which may be of interest to people who aren’t following the tour closely, as well for the hardcore cycling fans who may have missed it.

The way the site is structured, the newest posts are at the top of the page with older ones further down in the river. With a high volume of posts, it can be easy to miss stories so if you’re ever looking for something in particular, the search function might be handy.

As it happened, yesterday’s round-up is actually hyperlinked twice in the above piece — once in the very first line and then again at the very bottom.

Thanks for the feedback anyway. Hopefully you might reconsider the fact that you “wouldn’t want to be relying on the getting the result” from ourselves.

      All the best,

      Niall
