McGrath replaces Canavan as Fermanagh boss

The former Down manager has been named as the Erne County’s new man tonight.

THE FERMANAGH COUNTY Committee has announced that Pete McGrath is the new manager of the senior football team.

The Down native replaces Peter Canavan, who stepped down from the role in September after two years in charge of the Erne County.

There were a number of candidates in the running for the job but McGrath was chosen and ratified at a county board meeting tonight.

He led Down to All-Ireland senior titles in 1991 and 1994 and was also manager of Ireland’s International Rules team on two series.
