FORMER MAYO FOOTBALLER Pearce Hanley has agreed a new long-term deal at AFL club Brisbane Lions.
The 24-year-old, who moved to Australia in 2007 before making his debut a year later, signs a contract extension which will bring him up to the end of the 2018 season, the club has confirmed.
Hanley has been impressive form this year with many suggesting his displays warrant All-Australian selection.
I love the Club, I love Brisbane and I want to be a part of the exciting times ahead for the footy Club,” Hanley told the Lions website.
Dean Warren, Lions General Manager, added: “Pearce has been one of our most consistent performers this year and the Club is ecstatic he will remain a Lion for the next five years.
“His development over the past few years has been extremely exciting and we have no doubt he will become one of the game’s elite.”
