Paul McShane signs a new contract with Premier League Hull City

McShane, 27, has agreed a deal to stay at the KC Stadium until 2015.

PAUL MCSHANE HAS been rewarded for his part in Hull City’s promotion with a new two-year contract.

The Republic of Ireland defender made 29 appearances and scrambled home a crucial goal on the final day of the season as the Tigers sealed their return to the Premier League.

But McShane, 27, was out of contract until yesterday when he signed a new deal that will keep at the KC Stadium until 2015.

“Last season was such a great season and then I got offered the new contract,” the Wicklow man told the club’s official website.

“I couldn’t wait to come in and get it signed and now I can just get on with looking forward to the new season.

“I’m really looking forward to testing myself in the Premier League again. When we got relegated from the top flight in 2010, it was always my aim to get back up there (with Hull City).

“Now I’ve got the opportunity to play up there again. I’ll admit there were times when I didn’t think it would happen, but we had such a great season last year and we’re back up there now.”

Fair play to him. He almost walked away from football a while back but he stayed the course and this is his reward. Delighted for him.

I heard hull, bayern and barcelona had a bidding war for his services but he chose hull to be closer to home, reports for the barca camp say pique is bitterly dissappointed as he was looking forward to playing alongside this “legend of the game”.
Manuel neuer said he would have been the cement between the blocks in bayerns defence. Hull are very lucky.
