Pastures new: Zayed completes Tehran move

The Airtricity League’s Player of the Year has left Derry City, after attracting interest from abroad.

PERSEPOLIS TEHRAN HAVE completed the signing of Eamon Zayed from Derry City.

The 28-year-old Irish-Libyan, who was the Airtricity League’s top scorer this season, in addition being named Player of the Year by his fellow pros, has signed a six-month deal with the club.

The player has four caps for Libya and is expected to be selected in their upcoming African Cup of Nations squad.

He has also played for other Irish clubs including Bray Wanderers and Sporting Fingal.
