Between the last 10 thrilling days and the preceding Olympics, London has provided us with a lifetime’s worth of sporting brilliance.
We’re not quite sure what we’ll do with ourselves without regular updates from Stratford, Weymouth, Brands Hatch, Lee Valley, the ExCel, Hyde Park and Eton Dorney.
Ireland’s interest in what has been our most successful Games in living memory ended last night with brilliant performances from James Scully and Darragh McDonald in their respective freestyle finals.

But, I hasten to add, each one is set to be epic.
Regular viewers of the annual London marathon will be familiar with the sight of paracyclists hurtling round the old streets of the English capital. So, what better way to start your Sunday (after you’ve finished perusing TheScore.ie of course) than watching the final athletics events of the Games, the Marathon.
First off is the men’s T12 and T46 at 8am, followed by the men and women’s T54 class at 11.30am.
The biggest prize in the hard-hitting world of wheelchair rugby is up for grabs at the Basketball Arena. First though, in the bronze medal match at 12 noon. The fight for silver and gold will begin at 2pm.
The last event of the Games will be seven-a-side football. Brazil meet Iran in the bronze medal match at 1.30pm and the final between those old friends Russia and Ukraine kicks off at 4pm.
After that… well, the closing ceremony is pencilled in for 8pm. We prefer the actual sport, though.
