'In case of emergency, break glass' -- Paddy Power trolls United fans with Ferguson model

Even United fans will admit, this is pretty funny.

PADDY POWER HAS a plan to save Manchester Unitedโ€™s season. Theyโ€™re bringing Alex Ferguson back to Old Trafford.

Well, sort of.

Hot on the heels of Unitedโ€™s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, the bookmaker announced a special delivery of a Ferguson waxwork model.

โ€œYes, it appears it was made by someone who has no idea what Sir Alex Ferguson looks like,โ€ Paddy Power wrote, โ€œbut still โ€“ itโ€™s Fergie back at Old Trafford โ€“ what more do United fans want?

โ€œIt even says โ€˜in case of emergency, break glassโ€™ on the front! Like it would on a bus or some other enclosed space if was an emergency! Because David Moyesโ€™ management is so bad, itโ€™s an emergency for United. Ha ha! Weโ€™re so edgy.โ€

Moyes deserves time based solely on his job at Everton. Fergie left that club knowing it needed to go through a major transition and did Moyes no favours with the timing of his departure. Apart from their forwards(who have been decimated by injuries all season), they are in dire need of investment elsewhere. And whether of not they get top 4, they will always attract top talent and will undoubtedly be champions again soon. (Liverpool fan who appreciates the purity of the game!)

Deep deep hatred asideโ€ฆ.. Do any united fans trust Moyes to rebuild a squad to challenge for major trophies? Surely he is the WRONG man. I think fergison has sold the united fans short so his own legacy lives on. Klopp, Ancelotti or even Mourinho are so far ahead of Moyes in every aspect of managing that it makes Moyes appointment scandalous

Donโ€™t think moyes was right choice. Was surprised when he was appointed as he as never won anything as a manager, he never won at old Trafford before his second home game in charge, has not won at anfield or Stamford bridge. He did wonders with Everton with the players they had avoiding relegation/getting into CL and beating Liverpool in the league a few seasons, but look at what Martinez has done in 6 months with Evertonโ€ฆ..totally different team then last season and he hasnโ€™t changed the squad that much and lost an important Everton player in felini. Unfortunately I donโ€™t think moyes is the right man. Nobody wanted to sign for utd in the summer as they wanted to see how moyes gets on. Judging by the first few months, canโ€™t see them signing a big name soon, especially if they donโ€™t make top 4.

All the people here who think Moyes should be sacked are the exact type who wouldve had Ferguson sacked before the birth of the Premier League and theyre the very ones who think its scandalous when trigger happy chairmen get rid of the likes of Adkins,Clarke,AVB etc.Give the man a chance to see one of the worlds biggest clubs through a much needed transition.u can only realistically make conclusions after a minimum 2 seasons.heโ€™s made only ONE signing.its not even his team.if theyโ€™ve made no progress by then,he can have no complaints about his position being questioned.

Ferguson was saved by a gifted Frenchman and not by his tactical skills. Cantona was fundamental to Unitedโ€™s early success. Success then bred success and the rest is history. Give Moyes two years and it will take 20 years to reverse the slide just live Liverpool. He doesnโ€™t have the tactical skill for the top clubs and the best players will go elsewhere to win things. United will then attract only mediocre talentโ€ฆ.. and the downward spiral be self sustaining. You think a big club cant go down the toiletโ€ฆ..remember Leeds,

Fergie is gone lads, he is a 72 yea old man gave 26 years of his life to one club! Moyes is the man now all can do is let him buy his own players and judge him next year.

I think itโ€™s a great publicity gimmick but grain of truth in itโ€ฆ. I know people say Utd donโ€™t have a decent squad but I think Utd would be right in the title chase if Fergie was still mgrโ€ฆ it looks like the players are starting to doubt Moyes so itโ€™s turning into a bigger transition than Fergie would have envisaged as Moyes will have to shift out players who doubt him & bring in his ownโ€ฆ. Fergie left him a squad who won the title at a canter, lot of young players too, so was set up nicely for a new mgrโ€ฆ huge summer for Moyes, big pressure on him & anyone he brings in to turn it around next seasonโ€ฆ.

Liverpool fan here, not taking the piss but have a genuine question for Utd fans. What is the story with smalling and jones? Will they be the centre back pairing when vidic and Ferdinand are gone? I donโ€™t see too many games these days as I work weekends, but Jones looked a superb player a couple of years back, and smalling a similar prospect. They seem to have gone a bit downhill recently, any opinions?

This โ€œhe was appointed for the long-termโ€ is rubbish. Itโ€™s a results game, if you perform, you get more time. Every club hires someone hopefully for the long-term as it means success if theyโ€™re still there a few years down the line. Any of the choices available at the time Ferguson announced he was stepping down would be doing a better job than Moyes. He was the easy choice and itโ€™s backfired and now theyโ€™re stuck with him because they said they were hiring him for the long haul.
