Probably a healthy bank balance and a life he’s thoroughly enjoyed.
“Career” being the operative word. Didn’t mention anything about his life.
And I sincerely doubt he is set for life from earning about 5k a week at Celtic and Barnsley for a sum total of half a dozen years.
Like most footballers theses days I’m sure he’s investments outside of football that make his life comfortable

I’m fairly sure McCourt had a lot of injuries in his career so I’d say he probably wanted to play a lot more games but just wasn’t able
