Ireland's Owen Garvan signs new deal with promoted Palace

Garvan has signed a new two-year extension with Crystal Palace.

DUBLINER OWEN GARVAN has been rewarded with a new two-year contract after helping Crystal Palace to seal their return to the Premier League.

The former Ireland U21 international started Monday’s play-off final win against Watford as Palace gained promotion back to the top flight for the first time in eight seasons.

Garvan moved to Selhurst Park from Ipswich three years ago and has since made over 100 appearances in the Eagles’ midfield, including four goals in 32 games last season.

Team-mate Peter Ramage also signed a two-year deal which will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2015.

Defenders Damien Delaney and Paddy McCarthy are the other Irishmen on the books at Palace, who last played in the Premier League in 2004/2005.
