Out of action: Earls to miss 4-6 weeks

The winger’s injury is not as bad as was initially feared, and he could return before Christmas.

KEITH EARLS WILL be out for between 4-6 weeks, it has been announced today.

A scan revealed that the player suffered medial ligament damage during Munster’s RaboDirectPro12 encounter with Leinster on Friday.

The winger went down injured in the opening seconds of Friday’s game.

However, his injury is not as bad as was initially feared, and he could return for his province’s Heineken Cup matches against Llanelli Scarlets in December.

Munster begin their Heineken Cup campaign against Northampton on Saturday in Thomond Park.

They then travel to play French side Castres a week later.

It was revealed earlier today that the Leinster-Munster game received the highest audience figures ever for a rugby match broadcast on Tg4.
