THE FAMILY OF Oscar Pistorius say the sprinter has not returned to competitive training after he was photographed on the track.
Pistorius, a six-time Paralympic gold medallist, is on bail after being charged with the premeditated murder of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The 26-year-old denies murdering Steenkamp, who was shot and killed at Pistorius’ Pretoria home on February 14.
The runner, who featured at both the Olympics and Paralympics in London last year, could be free to return to competitive action after a court changed his bail restrictions to allow him to travel abroad for events.
And there has been speculation Pistorius would attempt to qualify for the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, due to be staged in August, with the rumours fuelled by a photo taken last month of Pistorius at an athletics track.
However, a statement made by his family said Pistorius was not back on any official training programme and any decision to return remains some way off.
“At this point Oscar is still in an extremely traumatised state and has made it clear to all of us that he is not able or willing to even contemplate this issue (returning to competition) at this stage,” Pistorius’ uncle Arnold said in the statement.
“Oscar has been out running on a number of isolated occasions in the days following the relaxation of his bail conditions, but each time has been very difficult and he has struggled immensely with the decision to even leave the house.”

Yeah really sounds like he’s not doing any training! He may not be doing any training to increase his fitness level but hes certainly making sure that it doesn’t drop! Making sure he keeps his options open!
