Open Thread: What was your highlight of the sporting weekend?

It was a frantic weekend of action, and midweek won’t be much quieter.

PHEW! THAT WAS a fairly intense weekend of sport.

It had everything: Rory McIlroy back on form and G-Mac riding high. We had Brian O’Driscoll putting his body on the line (maybe) for the last time in Lansdowne Road.

Manchester United threw away a two-goal lead while Liverpool edged a thriller.

There were thrills, spills and no shortage of chills as the GAA season hit top gear with a slew of inter-county league tussles.

An Irishman was victorious at Cage Warriors 52 and Irish women were triumphant, claiming their first ever Six Nations title after beating France on Friday night… and who can forget the Airtricity League which got the new season under way with wins for Bohemians, Sligo Rovers, St Pat’s and Bray.
