GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI IS today expected to name his Ireland team to face the Faroe Islands on Friday.

With several players out through injury or suspension, there has been much speculation about who would make the starting XI.

To the surprise of many, Trap previously indicated he was 90% certain that both Richard Dunne and Wes Hoolahan would start the match.

Moreover, there are doubts surrounding the fitness of David Forde, with Keiren Westwood expected to play should the Millwall man fail to recover in time for the game.

Trap gave a hint of what his starting lineup might be yesterday, as he picked the following team for a training match: Westwood; Coleman, O’Shea, St Ledger, Wilson; Cox, Hoolahan, Whelan, McGeady; Walters, Keane.

However, while such pre-match selections are often a reliable indicator of what the starting team will be, the veteran Italian coach has been known to change his mind at the last minute in the past.

So with all that in mind, what should the Ireland starting XI to play the Faroes on Friday be?
