Ooh la la: Wannenburg finalises Castres switch

The South African back-row has agreed a two-year deal with the Top 14 side.

ULSTER BACK-ROW Pedrie Wannenburg has traded the north of Ireland for the south of France after finalising his move to Castres Olympique.

The South African landed in Ravenhill at the beginning of the 2010/2011 season but revealed in March that he would be moving on once his contract expired.

The 31-year-old signed off on two-year deal yesterday which will see him remain in the Top 14 until the end of 2014.

Wannenburg, who has 20 caps with the Springboks, joins compatriots Rory Kockott, Jan Bornman and Michael Coetzee at the club as well as new recruit Antonie Claassen who recently signed from Brive.

During his two seasons with Ulster, the ex-Bulls forward played 54 games scoring 45 points before making his final bow in the Heineken Cup final defeat against Leinster earlier this month.
