On song: 5 Manny Pacquiao hits of a different kind

He’s not just the best boxer in the world. Unfortunately.

SO WE’RE USED to watching Manny Pacquiao beat on anyone who dares to enter the ring with him.

The technical genius is rated best pound-for-pound fighter in professional boxing, the first man to win world-title belts in eight different divisions.

There is a different, more artistic side to Pac-Man however, with the fighter becoming involved in a number of side projects when he’s not busy preparing for a fight.

One that appears to be growing momentum is the man from the Philippines’ quest for singing success. See what you make of his renditions of some of the greatest songs in history.

5. Pacquiao sings his favourite love song to the camera in a low key recording of ‘Ordinary Song’. You might not know this song, but it certainly shows Manny knows how to pull the strings of an acoustic guitar.

4. Back in 2009, and Pacquiao belts out ‘Dance Dance’ at an after party in the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas following his victory over Ricky Hatton.

3. A crowd favourite this time, and you can see a glimmer of Mick Jagger in Pacquiao as he works the stage for ‘La Bamba’.

2. This is where it gets serious. Manny teamed up with legendary songwriter Dan Hill to cover ‘Sometimes when we touch’ which was released as a single back in April 2011. There are reports of the song breaking in to the US Top10 in recent days, so watch out Lady Gaga, Pacman is coming.

1. This duet might not be a US Top Ten, but it is still our favourite. One would suspect while Manny is taking this rather seriously, his partner is just up to his old tricks of comedic genius, when they cover John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ on US Chat Show Jimmy Kimmel.
