Off The Record: Five stories you may have missed over the weekend

Just in case you’re not an internet addict, here are some of the more quirky sports-related moments that happened over the past few days.

UNLESS YOU’VE BEEN glued to the internet all weekend, there’s a chance that some weird and wonderful sporting tidbits might have slipped through the cracks. Here’s a run-down of some of our favourites…

#JUNGLE BIRD In case you missed it, Jungle Bird made an appearance at the weekend’s game between Navy and Notre Dame at the Aviva Stadium. This somewhat eccentric individual initially gained a degree of fame when he made a similarly unexpected appearance at the US Open in June.

#PARDEW We’re not sure what inspired this video featuring Newcastle manager Alan Pardew in a tribute by one of the club’s more eccentric German fans, nor do we really want to know. Still, if cringeworthy so-bad-they’re-good clips are your thing, you should enjoy it.
