March Madness

Barack-etology: Obama reveals his picks for this year's March Madness on TV

The Prez has gone for a few shocks…

FOR THE NEXT three weeks American sport is all about ‘March Madness’, the annual college basketball tournament which sees 64 teams whittled down to one champion.

Part of the tradition is filling out “the bracket” in which wannabe clairvoyants try to predict the winner of every single game.

It’s virtually impossible to pick a perfect bracket — the odds are somewhere between one in 128 billion or a much more pessimistic one in 9.2 quintillion, depending on who you listen to.

The chances are so remote that Warren Buffet can confidently put up $1 billion for anyone who manages to do it.

But the bracket is tradition and everybody does it… even President Barack Obama.

Obama finished in the 74th percentile out of eight million or so entrants last year and this morning, as has also become tradition, he revealed his picks live on ESPN.

He has two fourth-seeds, Michigan State and Louisville, going all the way to the Championship game with Michigan State winning on 7 April.
