AFL BAD BOYS St Kilda’s are in hot water once again after a female fan claimed today that herself and her 13-year-old daughter had been sworn at by team captain Nick Riewoldt and bullied by players’ manager Ricky Nixon.

Both the Herald Sun and Perth Now carry details of the allegations made by the woman – referred to as “Mary” – on popular Melbourne radio station Radio 3AW earlier this morning.

According to the fan, the incident occurred in September of last year when she attempted to take a photograph of Reiwoldt and his team-mates as they sat at a beachside restaurant in Melbourne. The incident is alleged to have taken place the day after the initial drawn game between the Saints and league rivals Collingwood in the AFL Grand Final.

Speaking on 3AW, the woman recounted details of Riewoldt’s aggressive and threatening behaviour.

Nick Riewoldt put his hand up, gestured with his fingers and swore at me really loud.

It really shocked me – we walked away as quickly as we could, my daughter was very upset, we talked about it, but she did not understand why he had to yell that out.

They said they would call us back, and they didn’t.

Although the Saints’ captain has since contacted the woman to apologise for his behaviour, there appears to be a more serious issue outstanding regarding the subsequent actions of Nixon who represents Riewoldt as well as former Kerry star Tommy Walsh.

The woman at the centre of the incident also told 3AW host Derryn Hinch that Nixon had phoned her following the incident and unleashed a 10-minute long verbal tirade.

“He proceeded to swear and yell and threaten and bully and intimidate [me],” she said. “He said he was trying to get rid of scum like me.”

Nixon is well-known on these shores as the agent at the centre of the AFL’s controversial attempts to court GAA stars over the past few years. He was the subject of The Oz Factor, a three-part documentary series broadcast by RTÉ in 2009.

As reported by TheScore last week, this incident is merely the latest in a series of unsavoury incidents which have marred Saint Kilda’s since Walsh’s arrival. Most recently, four of the Kerryman’s team-mates were suspended last week for improper use of alcohol and prescription drugs during a pre-season training camp.
