In pictures: Thousands hit the streets for Night Run in Dublin

The city centre event provided some superb photos.

THE SAMSUNG NIGHT Run took place on the streets of Dublin on Sunday night and we’ve picked out some of the best pics from the photogenic event.

There was plenty of enthusiasm on show as thousands of runners started and finished the 10 kilometre course around the capital city.

I ran it as well, had good fun but thought the route was pretty poor. It was very narrow in places and caused bottle necks to the extent that people were at a standstill if there were large numbers at the same spot.

The whole theme was “Cork vs. Dublin” night run, shame on The Journal for poor reporting and it’s tunnel vision for Dublin only news. Well done to all the people who took part in Cork and Dublin again this year. Cork had some lovely pictures too, check out rte news site

Travelled down home for the Cork race, couldn’t face competing for Dublin. Cork race was on a much more spacious route and not half as flat so more of a challenge. Did Dublin last year and thought the route was far too tight for the numbers involved. Up the Rebels
