ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER major American sport working through a lockout.

On Sunday, the NHL shut down as the collective bargaining agreement between team owners and the Players Association (NHLPA) expired. Sorry, ice hockey fans — no action for the foreseeable future.

Both sides are trying to put their side of the story across but while the owners opted for a standard press release statement, the NHLPA went straight for fans’ heartstrings with an emotional black and white video and impassioned pleas from some of the game’s most famous faces: David Backes, Sidney Crosby, Gabriel Landeskog, James Reimer and Jonathan Toews.

Guess whose side we’re on now?
