Referee Chris Foy forced to go off after taking a ball in the face

Foy has a suspected broken nose after the incident in the first minute of Newcastle’s meeting with Swansea.

NEWCASTLE HOSTED SWANSEA at St James’ Park where Chris Foy was the main official.

The games wasn’t even a minute old when referee Foy was struck in the kisser after Fabrizio Coloccini blocked a shot by Jonjo Shelvey.

He lasted a half hour before being replaced by Anthony Taylor:

The Magpies took the lead thanks to Shola Ameobi’s first league goal of the season:
