Gary Neville's father charged with sexual assault

Neville Neville will appear in a Manchester court next month after the alleged incident involving a 46-year-old woman.

NEVILLE NEVILLE, FATHER of former England footballers Gary and Phil Neville, has been charged with sexual assault, prosecutors said Monday.

The 63-year-old, who has worked as an agent for his sons, will appear at a court outside Manchester, northwest England, next month.

The Neville brothers were part of Manchester United’s championship-winning teams under manager Alex Ferguson during the 1990s and 2000s.

Nazir Afzal, head of the Crown Prosecution Service in northwest England, said: “Greater Manchester Police has investigated an allegation of sexual assault by Neville Neville in March 2013.

I have reviewed all the evidence that they have gathered and have authorised the police to charge him with one count of sexual assault by penetration against a 46-year-old woman.”

Neville has been bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates’ Court on June 12.

Neville Neville is a former director of third-tier League One side Bury.

Gary Neville, 38, is England’s most-capped right-back, making 85 appearances for the senior team.

Having spent his entire career at Manchester United, he is now part of England manager Roy Hodgson’s coaching squad.

Younger brother Phil Neville, 36, captains Everton but will leave the club when his contract ends next month. The defender-midfielder won 59 England caps.
