NBA stars to participate in Obama fundraiser

Players including Carmelo Anthony and Ray Allen are set to compete in the event.

SEVERAL NBA STARS will compete in a game in which the proceeds will go towards President Obama’s re-election campaign.

According to Obama’s official website, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks, Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics and Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat will be among the stars participating in the event.

With no end in sight to the NBA lockout, the game will represent one of the rare occasions when fans get to see the stars in action.

All the proceeds from the evening will go towards a joint fundraising account by the Democratic Party and Obama’s re-election campaign.

In addition, tickets for the game, which takes place on December 12, will range from between $100 to $5,000.
