Tweak: Munster make two changes for visit of Treviso

Rob Penney has largely kept faith with the side who won 23-18 in Edinburgh.

FOLLOWING THEIR IMPRESSIVE win away to Edinburgh on Saturday, Rob Penney has made just two changes for this Friday’s clash with Benetton Treviso.

The game will be the first competitive outing at Thomond Park for the former Canterbury boss.

Tight-head prop Stephen Archer is given an opportunity from the start as BJ Botha drops to the bench.

The inclusion of blindside flanker Dave O’Callaghan is the only other change – like Botha, Paddy Butler is moved onto the replacements bench.

Along with Penney, the match will be the first real home outing for new signings:  Casey Laulala, James Downey and Sean Dougall. While Peter Stringer can expect a rapturous welcome when he comes off the bench to make his 223rd appearance after returning from a spell in the Premiership.

Munster: Denis Hurley; Doug Howlett (Capt.) Casey Laulala, James Downey, Luke O’Dea; Ian Keatley, Duncan Williams; Wian du Preez, Damien Varley, Stephen Archer; Donncha O’Callaghan, Billy Holland; Dave O’Callaghan, Sean Dougall, James Coughlan.

Replacements: Mike Sherry, Dave Kilcoyne, BJ Botha, Dave Foley, Paddy Butler, Peter Stringer, Scott Deasy, Ivan Dineen.
