Pro 12 team news: Van den Heever to make his Munster home debut

GERHARD VAN DEN HEEVER will make his home debut for Munster against Scarlets tomorrow night.

Coach Rob Penney has made 12 changes from the side that beat Perpignan in the Heineken Cup last week with Duncan Casey making his first competitive start for the province.

BJ Botha, Cathal Sheridan and Casey Laulala are the only survivors from the 18-17 win at the Stade Aime Giral.

Three of the players who came off the bench to combine for the winning try — Denis Hurley, Tommy O’Donnell and JJ Hanrahan — come into the starting XV for the game at Musgrave Park.

Billy Holland captains the side, which sees Andrew Conway start on the left wing following his recovery from a knee injury.

Munster: Denis Hurley; Gerhard van den Heever, Casey Laulala, Ivan Dineen, Andrew Conway; JJ Hanrahan, Cathal Sheridan; Dave Kilcoyne, Duncan Casey, BJ Botha; Ian Nagle, Billy Holland (c); Dave O’Callaghan, Tommy O’Donnell, CJ Stander.
Replacements: Damien Varley, Alan Cotter, John Ryan, Donncha O’Callaghan, Barry O’Mahony, Duncan Williams, Johnny Holland, Ronan O’Mahony.

Meanwhile Connacht make two changes for their game against the Dragons in the Sportsground.

Gavin Duffy and Nathan White both return to the side beaten by Toulouse last weekend.
