MUNSTER BACKS COACH Simon Mannix will join French club Pau as ‘sporting manager’ at the end of the current season.
The former All Black joined the Irish province alongside head coach Rob Penney at the start of the 2012/13 campaign, and has since helped Munster to two Heineken Cup semi-finals.
In February, it was announced that Penney and Mannix would be leaving Ireland at the end of the season, with Anthony Foley since being confirmed as the former’s successor as head coach.
Penney will join the NTT Shining Arcs in Japan’s Top League, although Mannix’s future destination had been unknown until today’s announcement by Pau. Munster have not officially confirmed a backs coach to take Mannix’s place next season.

Pau are currently fourth in the Pro D2 [France's professional second-tier league], meaning they have a chance of earning promotion to the Top 14 through the play-offs. They face Jeremy Davidson’s Aurillac away from home this weekend.
