Moura move to Manchester United is off, claims agent

“We have to forget this subject. There is no possibility he leaves now. Manchester United made an offer, which was rejected and they won’t make another one as they have reached their limit.”

THE AGENT OF sought after Brazilian star Lucas Moura says his client will not be moving to Manchester United.

United have already had a bid rejected for the attacking midfielder, but are unwilling to increase their offer. Moura is currently with the Brazilian Olympic team in England and played against Great Britain in a warm-up match last Friday at the Riverside Stadium.

Sao Paolo have reportedly slapped a £30 million price tag on the 19-year-old. And Wagner Ribeiro, Moura’s agent, cannot envisage the young prodigy moving anywhere else after United turned their attentions elsewhere.

Ribeiro told UOL: “They (Manchester United) have reached their limit. Lucas Moura won’t leave. He is happy at Sao Paulo.

  • If you ask me, the whole speculation of buying Moura was bull. This as usual was a ploy by Ferguson to try and silence the Man Utd fans who are frustrated with the lack of funds and quality signings for the new season.

  • No doubt he’s a talent but I think his club thought they’d try and squeeze the extra few million out of united. It backfired and it looks as if both parties missed out. No harm, too much money to spend on a player that has no experience of top level football. Not many brazilians do well in England. I think fergie might go back and have a look at erikson now. Young, talented with CL experience. Probably cost half of Moura’s fee. The failure to get Moura may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Also frees up some money for RVP. Happy days.

  • The reason this deal wont go through is because United are in £435million of debt and the Glazers wont give Ferguson Money to spend. All the Profit United makes it goes on paying back the debt.

United were debt free before they took over. The Glazers are nothing but leeches. The quicker they leave Old Trafford the better.

    • This deal will either go thru or not based on 1 thing and one thing only if fergie wants it he gets it, Infareness he has had a good amount of money to spend over the last fees years and he is correct in saying the market does not have much value at the moment, don’t gets wrong I’m not a fan of the glazers but of they get to carry out there plan with united the club will be debt free in 5 years and at the rate the club is makin money then united will be in a position to pay out over £100 a year on transfers, the club is making massive amounts of money but the debt has to served and as soon as it is there aunt no uefa fair play laws that will stop united from
Walking away with everything they want

    • You think IF and that’s an enormous IF, the Glazers can pay of their debt with the clubs money they will reinvest it? Or true to form for people who have pulled out at least £50m a year do you think they might pocket it instead? Men like that don’t get involved for the love of the club but for cold hard cash. Also the spend is a bit of a fallacy when you compare our net spend of the last 7 years with that of the preceding 7 years and then take into account inflation it makes for pretty bleak viewing!

  • Moura is quite overrated anyway I think! No way is he worth 30 million. He may be impressive in the Brazil league but if he came to the Premier League he would be a flop.
