So...Morgan Schneiderlin is really happy about being forced to stay at Southampton

French midfielder tweeted his displeasure after Saints’ chairman revealed he wouldn’t be sold to Spurs.

EARLIER THIS MORNING, it seemed certain that Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez would move from Southampton to Tottenham.

Just a few hours later though, Saints’ chairman Ralph Krueger said that the players weren’t going anywhere and would remain integral to the lineup for next season.

A tough stance from the club but understandable given how they’ve come in for major criticism after allowing Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers leave for pastures new.

But, it seems Southampton have a battle on their hands to follow through with their promise because Schneiderlin, clearly intent on leaving, took to Twitter to register his displeasure.

The 25 year-old has impressed many with his top-flight displays and was part of the French World Cup squad in Brazil.

With so many high-profile names departing the club, it’s inevitable that others will want to do likewise but with Schneiderlin now on a collision-course with his employer following such a public outburst, it points to an inevitable conclusion.
