ANTHONY DALY’S DUBLIN hurling side began their national league campaign last weekend with a heavy defeat to Galway.
Today, the Clareman must deal with the loss of two more of his players.
Liam Rushe will be out for four weeks, according to county officials, after picking up a hip injury in the first half of that Pearse Stadium defeat. The St Pat’s man will now pencil in the 1 April clash against Waterford as a possible comeback target, meaning he’ll sit out games with Cork, Kilkenny and Tipperary.
As well as that set-back, full-back Peter Kelly will also be out of action for up to three weeks after suffering a recurrence of a knee injury last Sunday.
These are the latest in a string of injuries for the league champions, which include the likes of Conal Keaney, Stephen Hiney, Tomas Brady, Paul Schutte, and Ross O’Carroll.
Daly confirmed last week that David O’Callaghan has returned to training, having battled a ‘bad dose’ of pneumonia.
