JOHN CORBALLY’S SECOND-HALF penalty helped Moate All Whites clinch the Leinster junior football title in a windy Mullingar this afternoon.
The Westmeath side led Straffan 0-8 to 0-3 at the break before Corbally’s penalty stretched the gap to eight points.
And although the Kildare men mounted a spirited comeback with the wind at their backs in the second half, Moate held on to win by four points, 1-11 to 0-10.

In Munster, Modeligo’s fairytale season continued as they put five past Castlemartyr of Cork to clinch the junior hurling title.
Two goals from Michael Troy and another from Tom Devine had the Waterford champions ahead by 3-6 to 0-6 at the break, and Jamie Troy and Devine put the gloss on 13-point win, 5-12 to 0-14.
The Munster junior football title is on its way back to the Kingdom after Brosna beat Glin of Limerick 0-15 to 2-6 in the second part of the Mallow double-header.
With Austin Stacks and Ardfert winning the senior and intermediate championships, Brosna’s win completes a football clean sweep for the county.
They will play Rock of Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final in January.
