This cricket commentary booth was almost destroyed by a rogue projectile

Mitchell Johnson’s six nearly blew out this commentary box window.

BOWLER MITCHELL JOHNSON must have felt pretty good when this ball left his bat during Australia’s one-day international against Zimbabwe in Harare.

The commentators were enamoured with the languid stroke too…..right up until it almost shattered the window of their booth and they were showered with countless pieces of razor-sharp glass just itching to do lasting damage.

Thankfully, the lads survived with their jugulars intact.

In fairness to Johnson, he later raised his bat, either in apology to the announcers or to bask in the adulation of the crowd. It was a very cricket-like reaction from the commentators though. We were treated to a “dear me” but I feel we were a few more cracks in the pane away from getting a fully fledged “blimey”.
