Cork's Milford and Wexford's Oulart claim weekend senior club camogie titles

The intermediate titles were won by Waterford’s Lismore and Kilkenny’s Piltown.

2012 ALL-IRELAND camogie champions Oulart-The-Ballagh are back in the All-Ireland series after winning today’s Leinster senior camogie final in Clane.

The Wexford champions had ten points to spare over their Kilkenny counterparts Thomastown with a powerful first-half display paving the way for Oulart’s win.

Una Leacy and Stacey Kehoe hit early goals for the winners while Ursula Jacob supplied some points as they enjoyed a 2-6 to 0-3 half-time advantage. Leacy added a third goal for Oulart in the second-half as they went 3-9 to 0-4 in front.

Anna Farrell grabbed a late consolation goal for Thomastown but they had too much ground to make up as Oulart claimed the spoils.

Milford (Cork) 0-14
Granagh-Ballingarry (Limerick) 0-6

MILFORD WON A third successive Munster senior camogie title yesterday when they had eight points to spare over Granagh-Ballingarry in Charleville.

The Cork champions proved too strong for their Limerick neighbours and they’ll now go forward to the All-Ireland series next spring where they will hope to land a third successive AIB All-Ireland senior crown.

The teams were level at 0-2 apiece after 10 minutes with Aisling Thompson and Emer Watson pointing for Milford before Rebecca Noonan and Mairead Fitzgerald replied for Granagh-Ballingarry.

Milford upped the ante for the rest of the first-half with Emer Watson striking four points and her sister Maria hitting one as they went in 0-7 to 0-3 ahead at the interval.

Watson’s marksmanship from placed balls helped extend Milford’s lead in the third quarter with Marie O’Neill also pointing. Despite Noonan trying to keep Granagh-Ballingarry in touch, they trailed 0-11 to 0-5 by the 45th minute mark.

Milford closed out the game with the Watson sisters, Emer (2) and Aine, pointing as they closed out the match with eight points to spare.

Piltown (Kilkenny) 3-10
Camross (Laois) 4-5

Kilkenny’s Piltown claimed victory against Camross today in Clane in the Leinster intermediate camogie final. Goals by Niamh Culleton and Chloe Holden sent Piltown ahead by 2-2 to 1-3 at the break.

Two goals by Dawn Mortimer brought Camross back into it in the second-half before Katie Power hit the net for Piltown.

Power helped Piltown go 3-10 to 3-5 ahead and despite a late Niamh Dollard goal for Camross, Piltown triumphed.

Lismore (Waterford) 2-7
Sarsfields (Cork) 0-5

Waterford’s Lismore landed the Munster intermediate camogie title with a 2-7 to 0-5 win over Cork’s Sarsfields yesterday in Fermoy.

Lismore were ahead by 1-5 to 0-1 at the break with Triona McGlone bagging their goal.

A second goal for Lismore arrived in the second-half by Ruth Geoghegan and they had eight points to spare by the final whistle.
