Mike Ross extends IRFU contract until 2016

The new deal will bring the prop beyond his 36th birthday.

IRELAND TIGHTHEAD MIKE Ross has agreed a one-year extension to his central contract, keeping him at Leinster until the summer of 2016.

The 44-cap international remains a cornerstone of the scrum for country and province this season and the new deal will keep tied to both beyond next year’s World Cup and the prop’s 36th birthday.

“There is a huge amount of talent in the squad and it is an exciting time to be involved with both Leinster and Ireland,” says the Corkman.

“The next 12 months will be incredibly busy and challenging but also has the potential to be very rewarding too.”

IRFU performance director David Nucifora, added:

“Mike has shown his value at both provincial and national level over the past number of seasons and we are delighted that we have secured his services until the end of the 2016 season.”
