Micko to hang up his boots at the end of the season

Munster confirmed today that the 33-year-old is the latest Irish international set to retire.

MUNSTER HAVE ANNOUNCED that Mick O’Driscoll will retire at the end of the current season.

The second row made his debut back in 1998 and has since amassed 204 caps for the province despite spending most of his career playing second fiddle to Paul O’Connell and Donncha O’Callaghan for much of his career.

He also enjoyed at stint in the Top 14 with Perpignan between 2003 and 2005.

This season he has played 17 time, captaining the team in ten of those and the 33-year-old has also won 23 caps for Ireland.

Meanwhile, O’Driscoll has been named in the Munster side which travels to Wales to play Scarlets this weekend.
