A SUSPECTED CRUCIATE ligament injury has ruled Kilkenny hurler Michael Rice out of next Saturday’s Leinster hurling quarter-final.
Rice sustained an injury to his knee at a training camp last weekend but the nature of the injury has not been confirmed yet as he is still to see a specialist in relation to it.
A Kilkenny GAA spokeperson confirmed to TheScore.ie today that Rice faces a spell on the sidelines and it is feared that he has torn his cruciate.
Rice has been hit hard by injuries in recent years, battling a knee problem in 2012 and also suffered a severe hand injury in that year’s All-Ireland semi-final against Tipperary.
