VIDEO: Dubs ‘still waiting for that perfect performance’ – MacAuley

Michael Darragh MacAuley is hoping the plan finally comes together at Croke Park this afternoon.

WHILE MOST COMMENTATORS managed to write Mayo off as soon as they qualified for this afternoon’s All Ireland semi-final, Dublin midfielder Michael Darragh MacAuley is taking nothing for granted.

“We need to put in a performance to get the win, it’s as simple as that.” MDMA tells TV3 here, “Especially how good this Mayo team is, they showed it down in Castlebar – they annihilated us down there. Everything’s gonna have to go right for us on the day.”

Dublin have reached this point of the competition at something of a stutter. While they have impressed, their performances have been underwhlming compared to the run which brought All Ireland success 12 months ago. MacAuley feels that the problem is a minor timing issue in the forward line. A problem we may see ironed out this afternoon.

“I think we’ve had some good performances, but up front we haven’t’ clicked a lot of the time. A lot of the time – if a score had gone over or if we had taken a better option – we might have been able to get a run on teams, but it just hasn’t worked out for us so far. We’re still waiting for that perfect performance.”
