IF MICHAEL D HIGGINS ever gets tired of, you know, being president, he could definitely fill in any spare time doing a bit of football punditry.

The President was at Dalymount Park last Friday night to watch Derry’s 2-1 win against Bohs, and afterwards, he caught up with Andy Donlan of BohsTV for a quick chat.

He proved that has an eye for a good ball-playing defender with his comments on Derek Pender’s performance but the kicker was his closing line: “The real test of those who like the beautiful game is to go and watch your local team.”
