Men Down: Injury list grows ahead of Cork semi-final

Danny Hughes and Dan Gordon will both miss the remainder of the National Football League campaign with injuries.

DOWN DUO Danny Hughes and Dan Gordon have both been ruled out of this weekend’s National Football League Division 1 semi-final against Cork, RTÉ reports.

Hughes was originally named in James McCartan’s attack for the game against Laois on O’Moore Park last Sunday but had to be replaced after he tore his hamstring in training.

The Saval clubman is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks but should be fit again for Ulster Championship quarter-final against Fermanagh in Enniskillen on 3 June.

Gordon will also miss the remainder of the league campaign after x-rays revealed that he broke a bone in his foot against Laois. The full-back was replaced by Declan Turley when he limped off during the second half of the 2-11 to 0-10 win.

Wing-back Neil McParland is also an injury doubt for the game against Cork.
