IF YOU’RE A Twitter user, you may have noticed Joey Barton airing his not-quite-PC views on Labour leader Ed Miliband on Wednesday night.
To put it bluntly, Joey doesn’t believe that a man with a speech impediment is suitable to lead one of Britain’s main political parties nor ever be Prime Minister.
And if all you history nerds and “King’s Speech” fans fancy whipping out the George VI example to counter his well-balanced argument, he’s got an answer to that one too.
“I know the king had one but he wasn’t elected, his job was hereditary.”
So there.
But it seems that mistimed tackling and political commentary are not the only tricks in the midfielder’s arsenal. Nope, now he’s become some sort of press watchdog as well, slamming the Daily Star for publishing a story based on his Miliband tweets.
“That’s 1 of the worst non-stories ever written. Journalistic equivalent of an amoeba. No wonder they never put their name to their non-story.
“Its [sic] quite embarrassing/amusing that the drivel that comes out of my mouth makes copy.”
With analysis like that, it’s probably safe to say that Joey won’t be short of work when he hangs up his football boots.
