Recall the Meehan and Cooper masterclass when Galway and Kerry met back in 2008

GALWAY AND KERRY are facing off at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage next Sunday in Croke Park.

Sadly two players who will be absent will be Michael Meehan and Colm Cooper with injury seeing the pair currently sidelined.

The tie evokes memories of that brilliant shootout between the counties back in 2008 at the same stage of the championship when Meehan and Cooper took centre stage.

Meehan took plenty plaudits for his free-scoring display as he struck 0-10 on a day of torrential rain but Cooper was also superb in helping Kerry claim an eventual 1-21 to 1-16 victory.
