Injury Update

McFadden fit for trip to Bath

Leinster have no fresh injury concerns to report ahead of Sunday’s Heineken Cup tie against Bath.

FERGUS MCFADDEN has been passed fit to travel to The Rec for Leinster’s Heineken Cup clash against Bath on Sunday.

The Irish international met up and trained with the rest of the squad in Dublin this morning, showing no signs of the knock which forced him off in Friday night’s 52-9 win over Cardiff in the Pro12.

With Jonny Sexton given a further rest and Ian Madigan deputising at out-half, McFadden assumed kicking duties again on Friday night, landing all seven of his shots at goal before Rob Kearney came on to replace him in the second half.

McFadden’s recovery strengthens Joe Schmidt’s hand ahead of Sunday’s game. The 25-year-old utility back has been used this season at both inside and outside centre, where he faces stiff competition from a prolific Eoin O’Malley, as well as on the wing.

Gordon D’Arcy, Luke Fitzgerald, Jamie Heaslip and Kevin McLaughlin are all set to return to the matchday squad as well this week following rests, while management have no fresh injury concerns to report on the back of Friday’s win.
