Mayo to face Tyrone and Dubs to play Kerry in All-Ireland semi-final ties

The pairings are now known after the completion of this weekend’s quarter-final action.

THE PAIRINGS FOR the 2013 All-Ireland senior football semi-finals are now known after the completion of today’s quarter-final action.

On August 25th in Croke Park, the first semi-final will take place between Connacht champions Mayo and Ulster outfit Tyrone.

Mayo continued on their winning ways with a ruthless destruction of reigning All-Ireland champions Donegal as they gained revenge for last September’s All-Ireland final loss.

While Tyrone were victors last night against Ulster champions Monaghan by 0-14 to 0-12.

The sides previously met in the champions in 2004 when Mayo won out by 0-16 to 1-9 in the quarter-final tie against a Tyrone side who were the Sam Maguire holders at the time.

The second of this year’s semi-final ties on September 1st in Croke Park will see Kerry in opposition against Dublin.

Eamonn Fitzmaurice saw his team claim success against Cavan in today’s quarter-final by 0-15 to 0-9 while Dublin were too good for Cork last night as they triumphed by 1-16 to 0-14.

The match will be a repeat of the 2011 All-Ireland final which finished in a dramatic 1-12 to 1-11 success for Dublin with current captain Stephen Cluxton converting a free to win the game.

Before that Kerry destroyed Dublin in the 2009 All-Ireland quarter-final and claimed a two-point win in the 2007 All-Ireland semi-final.

This year’s decider will be held on September 22nd in Croke Park.
