CILLIAN O’CONNOR HAS been named in the Mayo team for Sunday’s All-Ireland football final against Dublin.

The two-time Young Player of the Year was manager James Horan’s biggest concern and faced a race against time after dislocating his shoulder against Tyrone last month.
O’Connor, who missed a large part of the league campaign and the Connacht semi-final with a similar injury, was substituted after just 11 minutes.
But he has proven his fitness and is set to start at corner-forward alongside Alan Freeman and captain Andy Moran.
His inclusion means that it is an unchanged Mayo side from their 1-16 to 0-13 win against Tyrone in the semi-finals last month.
Keith Higgins is again named in the half-forward line while Footballer of the Year favourite Aidan O’Shea partners brother Seamus in midfield.
Dublin are expected to name their team after training tomorrow night.
Mayo (SF v Dublin): Robert Hennelly (Breaffy); Tom Cunniffe (Castlebar Mitchels), Ger Cafferkey (Ballina Stephenites), Chris Barrett (Belmullet); Lee Keegan (Westport), Donal Vaughan (Ballinrobe), Colm Boyle (Davitts); Aidan O’Shea (Breaffy), Seamus O’Shea (Breaffy); Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore), Keith Higgins (Ballyhaunis), Alan Dillon (Ballintubber); Cillian O’Connor (Ballintubber), Alan Freeman (Aghamore), Andy Moran (capt, Ballaghaderreen).
Whatever you think about LFC it is actually a big statement. The fact that homosexuality is still such a huge taboo amongst professional footballers (see cassanos comments in euro 2012) this may make it easier for a player to come out.
Now all we need is for John Terry to lead a peaceful protest for interracial monogamy.
And all dubs are supporters of the crown jackens see how bad putting everybody that supports and plays with or has Nything to do with the club in the one bracket is
Pity other clubs don;t follow, doubt we will see the likes of Manchester United doing this, wasn’t one of their players charged last season for homophocic comments, says it all really.
doubt we will see the likes of Manchester United having a player charged over a racist attack;
Good to see LFC getting its first parade in a long long time.
Were you one of the Rovers fans who invaded the pitch and pelted glass bottles at small children vs. St.Pats in Inchicore last season Gary, I also supported England, there are thousands of more Irish people in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and London than you’ll ever catch at a Shamrock Rovers match, pick up an Irish history book on immigration some time
So the Europa league counts now does it…. I would have swore than when City and United were in it last year it wasn’t a competition according to the LFC fans….
Ah poor Aidan, didn’t ye get knocked out of Europe twice in one season and win nothing? We did the opposite! I still cherish Aguero’s super goal in injury time, running around the gaff I was
Liverpool were shameful in their handling of the suarez incident. they are trying to make amends but need to do something big on the anti racism front to repair their reputation further imo. fair play to the club for telling the lesbian and gay community theyll no longer walk alone
Are people or have people read the statement and how many times Evra changed his statement and he was not convicted of being a racist and if ya watch the video of the hand shake evra makes no attempt to shake Suarez hand he drops it right down when it comes to suarez
@Gavin, like all Liverpool fans you are living in the past. Evra was 100% exonerated by an independent committee whilst Suarez was exposed as a liar on top of the obvious. Deal with it.
Evra was exposed as a liar too Niall, much more so in fact, he just wasn’t punished for it or for his abusive comments which just happened to not be interpreted wrongly and passed off as racism.
That was a kangaroo court,
That whole Suarez situation was a joke for the way the media dealt with it and for the way brainwashed united fans refuse to read the facts of that hearing.
The John Terry case. Now THAT was racism. He wasn’t harassed by the media though because he’s English! That ironically makes the English media racists IMO!!!
Full stop the end!
Niall this whole conversation is about the past unfortunately I don’t have the powers to see what will happen In the future so guess until I receive those powers I’ll just have to talk about the past oooppss
God there’s alot of man united fans posting here ( they don’t need to say it, the hypocrisy gives them away!)
We haven’t won the title in 21 years and they’re still obsessed with us. You’d sware they had an inferiority complex or something…;)
Uniteds whole existence under red nose is doing exactly what Liverpool have done they even wanted to play the way Liverpool do even with their partial success they still couldn’t match the European trophies liverpool won let’s see how successful manure are when they are after changing manager a couple of times but they will still have old red nose in the background really running things
Whoever the new PR company is they must be working overtime! Next liverpool will be helping the elderly! They are a long way from repairing the racist scandal though.
The club has always been community focused in Liverpool and has a great record in respect of that. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/community
Credit where it’s due in my opinion.
Sure what else would we talk about the great Irish league that has five teams that can really afford to be in it and the rest struggling with f*^k all help from the FAI even they see it as a burden on them or the GAA that is not professional because they only “pay expenses” more like don’t want to become professional because people will really see what coaches presidents are getting paid when it really should be the players getting paid
Once rejected by Wolves, he's now the 'heartbeat' of the best team in Europe

Liverpool reduce stigma while getting to sell their merchandise, win all round. Take that Cassano.
Wow, they’re sending their women’s team? That sends a clear message :)
The First Team are on a pre season North American tour then. It’s a positive step, but selling the brand world wide is still a commercial priority
So they’re not homophobes, just racists?
Original comment there Andrew.
And all dubs are supporters of the crown jackens see how bad putting everybody that supports and plays with or has Nything to do with the club in the one bracket is
Might as well, they won’t be going on any victory marches anytime soon.
And who will
Pity other clubs don;t follow, doubt we will see the likes of Manchester United doing this, wasn’t one of their players charged last season for homophocic comments, says it all really.

Good to see LFC getting its first parade in a long long time.
Aidan, banter’s one thing. You’re just making a tit of yourself.
Nah, utd players only attack supporters with actual violence
A clear and obvious attempt to make social amends for the mess they made of the Suarez debacle.
good to see all you Irish fans defending your British clubs
It’s called personal choice …. Knobhead
did you support England after Ireland got knocked out of the euros?
I did
Were you one of the Rovers fans who invaded the pitch and pelted glass bottles at small children vs. St.Pats in Inchicore last season Gary, I also supported England, there are thousands of more Irish people in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and London than you’ll ever catch at a Shamrock Rovers match, pick up an Irish history book on immigration some time
And next season they will send a team to the klu klux klan games.
They could actually send a team on any European night as they won’t be in that either.
They’re in the Europa League.
So the Europa league counts now does it…. I would have swore than when City and United were in it last year it wasn’t a competition according to the LFC fans….
Doesn’t matter Aidan. You were wrong and got caught out. How embarrassing for you.
Klu klux klan games don’t think so ,when it came to crosses we were crap last season :)
@Deborah Nolan Gregory As embarrassing at the tee-shirt wearers of King Penny supporting Suarez…… thats what you call been found out.
*being*
Deborah – well said.
Jeff – good bant. Downing definitely isn’t into his crosses!!
Ah poor Aidan, didn’t ye get knocked out of Europe twice in one season and win nothing? We did the opposite! I still cherish Aguero’s super goal in injury time, running around the gaff I was
Their sending the woman’s team ,can wait for headline in The Sun ” Racist Liverpool involved in sexism row ” :)

Typical Irish football fans debating the English league that’s why we are the greatest in the world :/
